Dear Participants,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my honor to invite you to the XV Workshop and Board of Directors of the Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), to be held in the city of Santiago de Chile, between November 28 and December 1, 2010.
It has been thirteen years since ASIPI first graced us with the responsibility of organizing the XIII International Conference and now it gives us again the opportunity to make this Workshop in the year of the bicentennial of our country’s independence.
The Organizing Committee has worked at this conference, receiving support from other professionals in order to offer a program of real content with important issues, which will be addressed by distinguished members of our association, as well as public and international organizations.
Among the topics covered in the sessions, we can highlight "the Intellectual Property on the Internet and the Protection of Personal Data", "Trademarks in cyberspace and social networks", "PCT and its implementation in Latin America", "Patentability of advanced technologies such as Nanotechnology, Biotechnology and Telecommunications", “Plant Variety Protection and UPOV Implementation in Latin America ", among others.
As a way of seizing the opportunity that this Meeting gives us, we will have two workshops at the beginning, one regarding Mediation, developed jointly with INTA, and the other regarding Geographical Indications, which will be of greatest interest. Furthermore, in collaboration with the International Bar Association IBA, roundtables will take place.
The Organizing Committee has dedicated its work and effort to develop an excellent social program that allows participants to assess the various aspects of the Chilean reality in artistic and cultural areas. As of now, we extend our most cordial invitation to attend the XV Workshop and Board of Directors, trusting that the professional and personal contribution of each of the attendees will make this meeting a pleasant and memorable experience.
